Pharmacy Informatics (PGY 2)

This program is pursuing accreditation with the ASHP. The starting point for the program will be the goals and objectives established by the American Medical Association. For those residents coming from within the VA, special attention will be paid to VA systems and data architecture, with the intent that the upon completing the program the resident would be able to function as an ADPAC or Data Manager for any VA facility or VISN.

For those not planning to stay with the VA, the electives will be selected to best meet the needs of the resident. Collaborative arrangements with the University of South Florida are in place to allow the resident to extend their knowledge of data systems and data mining. The facility has a number of robotic systems and a large data warehouse which will allow the resident to get hands on experience in these areas.
